TRIM saves time by allowing the SSD to clear data when the computer is idle, saves the extra time of having to remove invalid data first during the writing process, and can extend the life of the device.

The TRIM command is an attribute of the ATA Data Set Management Command, which is mainly used to increase the efficiency of garbage collection in solid state drives. TRIM can eliminate the data that can be deleted in the solid-state hard disk during idle time. It also allows the hard disk to organize and gather cells filled with data and empty cells to be written, so as to avoid unnecessary clearing and overwriting commands, and improve the use efficiency and durability of solid-state hard drives.
